SAVE LIVES AT SEA

There's a particular camaraderie that belongs only to those who've shared in a challenge to save the life of a fellow human being. It's an experience that Coastguard crew know and value.

What Do We Do?

It's simple really, Coastguard is dedicated to "Saving lives at sea." 24/7, 365 days of the year, professional volunteers are on call, ready to respond to a distress call.

At sea anything can go wrong in a very short period of time. Rescues can be from simply "the boat won't start" to a man overboard, hitting a submerged object, or even one of the crew suffering a medical emergency.

It's good to know that when you need us - We'll be there.

Who are we?

The Wellington Volunteer Coastguard (Coastguard Wellington) is a non-profit charitable organisation. Coastguard is the primary provider of marine search and rescue services to the New Zealand public.
